About CommCap US

Built to Perform

A principal-led platform with the experience to invest, operate, and solve.

The Firm

Institutional experience. Independent execution. Direct accountability.

Community Capital U.S. was founded by David and Cynthia Homsher — two principals who spent the better part of two decades inside the largest institutional real estate platforms in the country before stepping out to deploy that experience independently.

David's career was built on the lender side: managing distressed mortgage loans, working with court-appointed receivers, and making owner-level decisions when assets moved into workout, foreclosure, and REO — effectively acting as the owner on behalf of lenders and CMBS trusts at ACORE Capital, KeyBank, Berkadia, Capmark/GMAC, Archon Group/Goldman Sachs, and Wilcox Capital Partners.

Cynthia built her career as an active operator: overseeing leasing, operating budgets, and capital programs for large institutional multifamily portfolios at JP Morgan, Trammell Crow Residential/Crow Holdings, and Archon Group/Goldman Sachs — and currently as Vice President of Asset Management at Elevate Property Partners.

CCUS is not a fund. It is not a syndication platform. It is a small, principal-led firm where the people with the most experience are the people making the decisions — and the people you can call.

What We Do

Investment. Operations. Advisory.

CommCap US operates across three interconnected capabilities — each grounded in the same institutional discipline and direct principal accountability.

Real Estate Investment

Lead-sponsor acquisitions of cash-flowing workforce multifamily in North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. We underwrite conservatively, structure for downside protection, and manage every asset we acquire.

Asset Management

Institutional-grade oversight of leasing, operating budgets, capital programs, and business plan execution — led by Cynthia Homsher, whose current professional role is exactly this work.

Advisory & Complex Situations

Counsel to lenders, family offices, and capital partners navigating distressed assets, workout scenarios, and repositioning decisions. David's career was built on this work — managing assets on behalf of lenders and CMBS trusts when situations became complicated.

Our Approach

Disciplined. Focused. Accountable.

We focus on workforce multifamily because we know it well, the fundamentals are durable, and the communities we serve benefit from institutional-quality management. We keep the platform small because accountability requires it — every engagement is led at the principal level.

Underwrite like lenders

Conservative underwriting discipline developed from years of managing distressed assets on behalf of lenders and CMBS trusts. We know exactly where deals break — because we have managed the ones that did.

Operate like institutional owners

Cynthia's operational background means our assets receive the same active oversight of leasing, budgets, and capital projects that institutional portfolios demand — not a property management hand-off.

Invest alongside our partners

We invest our own capital in every deal. As active LP investors ourselves, we structure engagements the way we would want them structured — with aligned incentives, clear communication, and realistic return assumptions.
